The Entry Level Police Officer is a non-sworn member of the Department who will attend a POST-Certified Basic Police Academy.
Upon graduation from the Academy, the Trainee will be sworn in as a Police Officer and begin serving the 18 month probationary period.
Upon appointment to the position of Police Officer, the monthly salary will be increased to the first step of the Police Officer salary range.
Lateral Police Officer enforces various laws, performs patrol duties on different vehicles and on foot, responds to calls for assistance, makes arrests, and interacts with the community.
Qualifications include completing college units, a POST-approved basic academy, possessing certain certifications, and meeting physical standards.
Candidates need legal authorization to work in the U.S., should pass drug/alcohol tests, have a clean criminal record, and meet specific vision and physical requirements.Military veterans with discharges other than honourable will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Public Safety Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and transmitting routine and emergency telephone, radio, and computer messages. They also maintain a variety of police records and perform related work as required.
Qualifications include an accredited high school diploma or GED, along with one year of full-time experience in roles involving public contact, computer usage, or heavy telephone traffic.
Under general direction from the City Manager or designee, the Emergency Services Coordinator assists in the development, maintenance, and coordination of emergency services programs; coordinates and provides training, information, and planning efforts related to emergency preparedness and regional trends potentially impacting the Department and City; and provides businesses and residents with emergency preparedness information and guidance to help reduce the loss of life and property resulting from a disaster or major incidents.
Under general direction, provides management and support for all City information systems including; Enterprise software applications such as ERP, Saas, IaaS and PaaS, wired and wireless network infrastructure including the knowledge of router and network switching technology, knowledge of end-point device management such as Microsoft's Active Directory, desktop and end-point device management such as desktop phones, laptop and tablet computers. Knowledge of enterprise security best practices and system administration practices; and performs related work as required.
